History of the Area

Foundry Park at Three Oaks was originally the site of the Oakley Racetrack which operated thoroughbred racing from 1889–1905. The track closed when betting was prohibited by the state of Ohio. The grandstand, clubhouse and track were removed when that land was sold to the Cincinnati Milling Machine plant. (This company was a major producer of weapons during WWI and later produced machine tools in the 1930s.) The “Mill” used this racetrack site to construct homes for their workers at their nearby facility. Speed through a century and this location is now the home of Foundry Park at Three Oaks.
