Mat Walker is a student of the homebuilding craft. He launched his own residential development and homebuilding company, WP Land Co. in Montgomery, five years ago and has since seen tremendous growth. For the last three years, WP Land has averaged 20 houses per year and Walker expects to build 75 homes in 2023.

While WP Land is growing, up to 11 employees from five a year ago, it has not been an easy road. “These are interesting times; they’re exciting for people in our business,” Walker said. “They understand and face those challenges, and hopefully can prevail.”
